Two big names in Brazilian metal are currently on a joint tour in Brazil: Massacration and Matanza Ritual joined forces for the "Mata e Amassa" , which passed through Porto Alegre last Sunday, the 3rd. The gigantic queue at URB Stage already indicated that the night promised to be pure mayhem. Although the venue isn't very well known among the city's heavy metal fans, the structure didn't disappoint and comfortably accommodated the audience, which almost filled the venue in just a few minutes.

Initially, the audience was surprised by a brief comedy performance with a 2000s-style broadcast TV atmosphere, in which a presenter announced Massacration's delay and brought a supposed international electronic music artist onto the stage to entertain the fans, only to be interrupted by a punch from Joselito , who simply appeared out of nowhere and was cheered by fans of the Hermes e Renato .

Next, Massacration takes the stage with “Metal is Law” and instantly drives the crowd wild. Vocalist Detonator doesn't lose his composure and impresses fans with his precise high notes. During the beginning of the show, he didn't miss the opportunity to take a jab at his tour rivals, calling Matanza Ritual a beginner band that makes songs about “bar fights”.

Despite their humorous history, it's easy to see Massacration as a real band that plays high-quality traditional heavy metal. It's the different dynamics of the show that make the performance funnier, like Michael Jackson Max Caralheira 's participation in "The Mummy," with a very dignified Egyptian dance choreography between the guitarist and Detonator.

The show also featured inside jokes, such as when guitarist Headmaster appeared on stage saying he was late because he had to have lunch at a famous adult entertainment establishment in the city. There was also a distribution of grilled sausage on a skewer to the sound of "Feel The Fire… From Barbecue." It was during moments like these that we could see Bruno Sutter laughing at Detonator and his bandmates, sometimes even unable to sing.

Jokes aside, but not entirely, Massacration announced that they will begin recording their new album, Metal Is My Life, next week. The album also shares its name with the band's latest single, which, during the show, generated controversy by stating that metal is better than sex, leading the musicians to leave the stage and the audience to boo Detonator.

For the encore, the band brought in guitarist Defecator , played by Fredi Chernobyl . Together, they performed the acclaimed songs "Evil Papagali," "Metal Massacre Attack," and "Metal Bucetation." It was a trio of songs that left fans ecstatic in a show that entertained everyone from beginning to end.

Then it was Matanza Ritual's turn to get the fans jumping and forming new mosh pits as they opened their set with "O Chamado do Bar," "Meio Psicopata," and "Remédios Demais," played one after the other. The crowd couldn't contain themselves and went wild.

Without pausing for long and maintaining the spirit of the tour, Jimmy London didn't hesitate to retaliate against Massacration, calling the band amateurish and false representatives of true heavy metal. The vocalist urged everyone not to fall for this kind of farce and even took the opportunity to mock Detonator's vocal timbre.

After about thirty minutes of the show, Matanza Ritual had already performed around ten songs, including “A Arte do Insulto”, “Bom É Quando Faz Mal” and “Carvão, Enxofre e Salitre”, and with each song, the audience grew more excited, singing along and jumping wildly. Jimmy London interacted with the audience through dance moves and let the crowd sing parts in chorus, but avoided any delays between songs and focused on keeping the energy high. Even the solos by Amílcar Cristófaro (drums), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Antonio Araújo (guitar) made the crowd go wild.

To close the show, a few more classics: “Clube dos Canalhas”, “Pé Na Porta Soco Na Cara”, “Tempo Ruim” and of course, “Ela Roubou Meu Caminhão”. After a set with twenty-five songs in total and with mosh pits occupying almost half of the general admission area, Matanza Ritual rocked the night with fervor, without disappointing or leaving anything to be desired.
