The Brazilian band Massacration celebrated Rock Day, which was last Thursday, July 13th, with the release of a single to narrate their unconditional love for heavy metal in "Metal Is My Life." Or almost.
Self-proclaimed as the “greatest metal band in the world,” Massacration released their new song with an epic music video. Directed by Felipe Torres and Rudge Campos of Foggy Filmes, the video was filmed at Casa Medieval in São Paulo, featuring warrior-worthy costumes, tavern singing, and fight scenes with five stuntmen. “They all died during filming,” vocalist Detonator assured.
The song begins as a moving and dedicated ballad, in which Massacration sings the praises of metal and exemplifies everything inferior to the genre, from food dishes to technological conveniences. The song gains momentum and intensifies, showcasing the strength of the band's feelings for metal, but ends abruptly after a somewhat… exaggerated declaration from Detonador. Even unconditional love for metal has its limits, apparently.
