Check out the music video for Inferno.

Former Megadeth Marty Friedman released the music video today for the song "Inferno ," the title track from his new album, which will be released next month.

The video is inspired by the television series "Zenryokusaka," which aired in Japan, a country where Friedman lived for over 10 years and became a popular television celebrity.

“The video is a parody of one of my favorite shows on Japanese TV. It’s a weekly 5-minute program that shows just one girl running uphill. Each week it’s a different girl and a different hill. I’m addicted to this show and I think it’s brilliant for its simplicity and the light sexual nature of each episode,” explains Friedman.

“It took me a while to explain the charm of the program to the video director, David Brodsky, but I think in the end he understood. It’s one of those things that makes sense outside the culture you were born into: Either you understand it and it’s cool, or you don’t understand it and it’s weird,” adds the guitarist.

The album “Inferno,” recorded in Los Angeles, will be released in May and, according to Friedman, “features the most intense compositions I can create and play .” Several artists influenced by the former Megadeth guitarist make special appearances on the album, including the duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, as well as the vocalist of Children of Bodom, Alexi Laiho.
