Marty Friedman gave more details regarding his upcoming album.
When he was at Metalmania III he commented on his new work ( via Blabbermouth ): “I have 15 solo albums now, and each time I try to do something new and something I’ve never done before. I never want to be heard as one of those guys, 'Oh, your first albums were great.' You know what I mean? I used to say that about my favorite guitarists – unfortunately – and I never wanted that said about me. So, I’m always challenging myself with new things.”
“On this new album, which I’m already 70% done, the closest thing I can relate it to is an album I called Scenes [1992], which I released a while ago. It was very dramatic and orchestral, and there were many other types of instruments – violins, cellos, and all that sort of thing. So it’s more of a dramatic and orchestral concept. But everything I’ve learned since that Scenes has grown exponentially, so it’s on a much larger scale. So, if you like that Scenes , I think this will be your choice.”

Marty Friedman reunited with Megadeth in February after twenty-three years. The guitarist lives in Japan and gave an exclusive performance.
The performance took place in Tokyo, and he went on stage to play "Countdown to Extinction" and to jam on "Tornado of Souls" and "Symphony of Destruction."
