Marty Friedman , former guitarist of Megadeth , publicly praised friends and icons of the music industry, including Kiko Loureiro , current guitarist of Megadeth, and Lindsey Buckingham , founder, guitarist and one of the vocalists of Fleetwood Mac .

In an interview with Guitar World , the musician didn't hold back in praising Kiko and his participation in the Brazilian's most recent album, Open Source , stating, “Kiko and I are brothers. He's a really, really good friend of mine. When he comes to Japan, we always hang out. I don't think we've ever been in a room together playing guitars, but I certainly would love to. He's a super, super, super guitarist, and a super guy. So when he invited me to play on his song, I jumped at the chance. I had no idea what he was going to propose, but the song was really cool. So I did what I do and everyone had a great time,” he recalls, and also comments that he never talked much with Kiko about Megadeth, but highlights that he's a smart guy and always tries to keep up with him.

Besides Kiko, another guitarist was praised in the interview, "Lindsey Buckingham is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. I was inspired by so many things from that guy. He plays such basic melody lines, but the way he hangs each note, nobody else does that. And it's so impressive."

“He was a huge influence on me when I started playing lead guitar – how do you get that emotion? He’s playing the same scales everyone else is, and he’s not doing those 20-finger tapping things, but the second you hear the guy you know it’s him. And what he does always elevates the music,” he says.
