Marty Balin , co-founder and lead singer of Jefferson Airplane , died at age 76. The news was announced by Ryan Romenesko, the singer's representative, in a statement saying that Balin passed away last Thursday, the 27th, alongside his wife Susan Joy Balin. The cause of death has not been confirmed.
