The vocalist was also excited to be able to scream more, like he used to do with the band

Mark Morton , guitarist for Lamb Of God , recently released a single from his new solo album featuring a very special guest: Chester Bennington.

“Cross Off” was a huge success, bringing the Linkin Park vocalist back to the music charts for the first time since his death. Now, the guitarist reveals that the singer was very excited to do something heavier than what he had been doing with the band. “I didn’t even know if he would accept, but I wanted to work with him and I went after him,” Morton tells Kerrang!, “He was really cool about my work with Lamb Of God.”

According to the guitarist, Bennington “loved the music” and working with him was “amazing and felt natural, just two guys doing what they love.” He also revealed that the vocalist was “excited to do something heavier than what he was doing with Linkin Park, and especially to scream more. The music meant a lot to him, it was something special.”

The track was composed by Morton, Bennington, and Jake Oni , and according to the guitarist, its lyrics are personal to the three of them. "Cross Off" was produced by Josh Wilbur and also features bass by Paolo Grogoletto and drums by Alex Bent of Trivium .
