Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton released his new single "Brother" last Friday, February 7th, a collaboration with country singer Cody Jinks . The song will be part of his upcoming solo album, * Without The Pain *, which will be released on April 11th by Snakefarm Records.

The collaboration emerged during a songwriting session in Nashville, where Morton met with Jinks and fellow country artist Travis Denning . In just three hours, the trio transformed notes Mark had taken on tour into a song brimming with emotion.

In an interview, Morton recounted that the initial idea came about during a long bus trip with Lamb of God. “I wrote fragments in my notebook and later presented the chord progression to Cody and Travis. The chemistry was instant,” he explained.

“This song is about family separation, something many people face. We put our own experiences into it, and Cody delivered a visceral performance.”

In addition to the single, a cinematic music video accompanies the release, visually translating the melancholic and introspective atmosphere of the track. The scenes reinforce themes such as emotional distance and the search for redemption.

The new album, Without The Pain, promises to explore Morton's Southern roots, blending Southern rock, blues, and country.

Among the collaborations are names like Charlie Starr ( BLACKBERRY SMOKE ), Jason Isbell and Grace Bowers , as well as a cover of "The Needle And The Spoon," a classic by Lynyrd Skynyrd featuring Neil Fallon ( CLUTCH ).
