Mark Farner , former guitarist of Grand Funk Railroad , has announced six shows in Brazil for May 2026.
Mark Farner's American Band 's tour begins on the 20th in Porto Alegre and continues through Curitiba, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, and Rio de Janeiro.
This will be the musician's sixth visit to Brazil, the last one being in 2024. The setlist should include not only the greatest hits from Grand Funk Railroad's career, but also tracks from the artist's solo career. The backing band features experienced musicians who have accompanied Farner for years, guaranteeing a faithful and energetic performance.
After leaving Grand Funk in 1998 due to creative differences, Farner pursued a solo career. Soon after, he began incorporating spiritual themes into his compositions, reflecting his conversion to Christianity in the 1980s. At 76, he continues to perform with Mark Farner's American Band, bringing to the stage the same intensity that has marked his career since the 1960s.
