X Japan's show took place at Coachella

Marilyn Manson made a special appearance at the Coachella festival in the United States. The singer joined X Japan to perform the song "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" by Eurymics. Manson had previously covered the song in 1994 on his album Smells Like Children .

Wes Borland, guitarist for Limp Bizkit, replaced Sugizo, who had visa issues. The show also featured appearances by Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses and Miya of Mucc, as well as holograms of deceased X Japan members, bassist Taiji (2011) and guitarist Hide (1998).

X Japan is the most successful rock group in Japanese history. Led by composer, drummer, and pianist Yoshiki, the band has sold over 30 million albums, singles, and videos combined, and has sold out Japan's 55,000-capacity Tokyo Dome 18 times.
