According to Rolling Stone , Marilyn Manson has been working "every day" on Kanye West following his participation on the Donda .
After collaborating with the rapper on the track "Jail Pt. 2" and Grammy nomination for his participation on the album, Manson reportedly extended his partnership with West to Donda 2 .
According to producer and collaborator Digital Nas , Marilyn Manson was not encouraged to make rap music, but rather to remain true to his sound within heavy metal music.
“Every day I go to the studio, Marilyn is there working on Donda 2 ,” Nas told Rolling Stone . “[Kanye] doesn’t want him to play rap beats. He wants Marilyn to play what he usually does and then Ye will take parts of that and use samples, like he used to do on Yeezus .”
Marilyn Manson's participation in Donda and his appearance in one of the album's three live performances caused quite a stir due to the numerous accusations of physical, psychological, and sexual violence that the singer faces. The singer also shocked the public by appearing alongside Justin Bieber and Kanye West at one of the rapper's religious services .
Grammy nominations was withdrawn shortly after a review of the data for the song "Jail," which incorrectly credited the musician as a composer. The other nominations remained, and the awards show CEO justified the withdrawal by saying they " don't look at people's backgrounds " before they are nominated, but hinted that they might prevent Manson from publicly participating in the ceremony.
