Manson used the fake gun in his return to the stage

Marilyn Manson returned to the stage after having to postpone his tour due to an accident during a show in New York. His return took place at the Knotfest Meets Ozzfest festival, where he introduced the band's new bassist .

During the performance of his new track "We Know Where You Fucking Live," Manson, who has been in a wheelchair since the accident, used a microphone attached to a fake gun, pointing it at the audience while he sang.

Manson's performance took place just hours after a shooting in Texas that killed 26 people in a church.

The singer was criticized by the media and even fans for his "lack of sensitivity," but Manson defended his idea: "In a time when mass shootings have become an almost daily occurrence, this was an act to show how easy it is to acquire weapons and how normal all of this seems."

"My presentation was not intended to be disrespectful or to show any insensitivity. The microphone with the weapon was given to me with the authorization of a police officer."

He concludes by saying: “My art has always been a reaction to popular culture and my way of making people think about the terrible things that happen in this world. The people who have been affected by the irresponsible misuse of real weapons have my empathy.”
