Millie Earl , from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP), is calling for the cancellation of a Marilyn Manson in Bournemouth, UK, scheduled for October 31.
BBC website , Millie stated that the show should be cancelled to “reinforce the message that violence against women and girls is not acceptable in our community”.
The Liberal Democrat reported that the council owns the Bournemouth International Centre BH Live venue where the show is scheduled to take place. Due to the lease agreement, the council has no decision-making power over which events take place there. However, Millie Earl wrote to the company to “express [her] concern”.
“I don’t think Marilyn Manson reflects the values we have at BCP. And we’ve been working hard on things like the White Ribbon accreditation program, which helps men and boys change negative and harmful behaviors. So, I asked BH Live to reconsider hosting Marilyn Manson later this year.”
As of now, the show is still confirmed for October 31st at Windsor Hall in the Bournemouth International Centre.
Sexual abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson
Over the past four years, Manson has been embroiled in a series of legal battles . Several women have accused him, including actress Evan Rachel Wood , of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. Following the actress's testimony, other women came forward to denounce numerous acts of violence perpetrated by Manson. Among them are actress Esmé Bianco and the singer's former assistant, Ashley Walters .
Marilyn Manson made his return to the stage in August 2024, marking the singer's first show since the accusations. In November of the same year, he released the album Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 through Nuclear Blast Records . This followed his being dropped by his longtime record label Loma Vista Recordings and the agency CAA after the accusations.
The singer denied all accusations and sued several of his alleged victims, being acquitted in January 2025 due to lack of evidence.
