Five days after a member of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council in the UK called for the cancellation of a Marilyn Manson in Bournemouth due to allegations of sexual assault, another elected official is calling for a second concert to be cancelled.

According to the website The Argus , Green Party MP Siân Berry Bella Sankey . In the letter, she expresses her concern about the Marilyn Manson concert scheduled for October 29th at the Brighton Centre, UK.

Furthermore, the congresswoman argued that allowing a concert by the artist would show voters that they were not concerned about the sexual misconduct allegations made against the artist. Read the letter in full:

“Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organizations that support them, will have very serious concerns about this reserve and its impact on other people visiting the city center, local residents, and the wider community.

Freedom of expression is an important principle that must be defended, including in relation to artists, but there is an obvious risk to community cohesion, and the council has distinct equality obligations to promote good relations between people who share protected characteristics and people who do not.

The council has a responsibility to take action when there are risks of discrimination, harassment, and victimization.

The level and nature of the accusations against Warner are concerning in themselves, but so is the message conveyed by providing a platform for this individual in the largest public space in our city, and what that will mean for the survivors.”

The first sign of cancellation

BBC website , Millie Earl of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP) stated that they should cancel the show in the city of Bournemouth to "reinforce the message that violence against women and girls is not acceptable in our community."

The Liberal Democrat reported that the council owns the Bournemouth International Centre BH Live venue where the show is scheduled to take place. Due to the lease agreement, the council has no decision-making power over which events take place there. However, Millie Earl wrote to the company to “express [her] concern”.

“I don’t think Marilyn Manson reflects the values we have at BCP. And we’ve been working hard on things like the White Ribbon accreditation program, which helps men and boys change negative and harmful behaviors. So, I asked BH Live to reconsider hosting Marilyn Manson later this year.”

As of now, the shows are still confirmed for October 29th at Brighton Centre and October 31st at Windsor Hall in Bournemouth International Centre.

Sexual abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson

Over the past four years, Manson has been embroiled in a series of legal battles . Several women have accused him, including actress Evan Rachel Wood , of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. Following the actress's testimony, other women came forward to denounce numerous acts of violence perpetrated by Manson. Among them are actress Esmé Bianco and the singer's former assistant, Ashley Walters .

Marilyn Manson made his return to the stage in August 2024, marking the singer's first show since the accusations. In November of the same year, he released the album Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 through Nuclear Blast Records . This followed his longtime label Loma Vista Recordings and agency CAA dropping him due to the accusations.

The singer denied all accusations and sued several of his alleged victims, being acquitted in January 2025 due to lack of evidence.
