Marie Fredriksson , lead singer of the duo Roxette has died at the age of 61. The information was confirmed by the artist's agent. The singer had been battling cancer for 17 years.
"You were the most wonderful friend for over 40 years. Things will never be the same again," lamented guitarist Per Gessle .
The partner also wrote about the loss on Twitter:
"Time flies by so fast. It wasn't that long ago that we spent days and nights in my small apartment sharing impossible dreams. And what a dream we eventually got to share! I had the honor of witnessing your talent and generosity. All my love goes to you and your family," she wrote.
