Marianne Faithfull died this Thursday, the 30th. The British singer and actress was 78 years old. The cause of death has not been released.
According to the BBC , which quotes a brief statement from the artist's spokesperson, "Marianne passed away peacefully in London today, surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed."
Faithfull was known for hits such as "As Tears Go By," which reached the UK top 10 in 1964, and for leading roles in films such as The Girl On A Motorcycle , from 1968.
