This work marks the official debut of the Rio de Janeiro-based band, which is the new rising star of Brazilian hardcore, presenting three intense tracks that explore themes such as fear, displacement, and freedom.
Lead singer João Delgado commented on the debut: “This EP is a milestone for us. It was born amidst personal and professional changes and ended up becoming an escape valve. Each track holds a piece of our history and our uncertainties.”
Defined by the group as “a portrait of the changes and uncertainties that have shaped our lives in recent years,” Os Órfãos e as Viúvas (The Orphans and the Widows is the result of a collaborative process between João Vítor Stutz Delgado Portella (vocals and guitar), João Vítor Lisboa Antonieto (bass), and Breno Dowsley (drums), the trio responsible for the recording. After the EP was completed, Ulisses Salomão (lead guitar and backing vocals) joined the project, completing the current lineup.
