Through social media , the Maranhão Open Air announced a revamped format for its second edition.
The event, which was initially scheduled to take place over 3 days in the city of São Luís, in Maranhão, announced the cancellation of half of the confirmed acts and will now take place on a single date, October 21st.
Of the 32 names initially announced , only 16 remain in the lineup: I Am Morbid , Primal Fear , Vinny Appice , Motorocker , Sinistra , Noturnal , The Damnation , Valvera , RF Force , Azul Limão , 7 Peles , Into Morphin , Torturizer , Vulture , OGROS + Marcelo Pompeu , and Comportamento Estranho .
According to a statement from the organizers of Maranhão Open Air , the reason for the mass cancellation and reformulation of the festival was "the low sales of advance tickets," which generated "insecurity for everyone involved in the production."
The festival is still taking place at the planned location (Espaço 77, near Araçagy beach), but there has also been a change in ticket prices. Tickets can now be purchased starting at R$175 (promotional price, with a donation of 1kg of food) through the Fanpass .
For those who had already purchased the passport option, the MOA offers the following alternatives:
– The passport entitles you to bring a companion for the difference in value;
– Request a refund;
– Receive a voucher of R$ 175.00 for consumption at the Festival.
– Those who bought a ticket for Sunday (22), it will be valid for Saturday (21).
