Maranhão Open Air festival has announced a new edition in 2023. The event will take place on October 21st and 22nd, the same dates as Knotfest Brasil , which also has a focus on rock and metal.
In a social media post, the organizers of Maranhão Open Air announced that the next edition of the festival will take place in a "paradisiacal seaside landscape, immersed in the lush nature of Maranhão.".
They see the event as "a unique opportunity to leave the concrete jungles behind and combine tourism in the Northeast with the sounds of the bands that will be with us.".
There is still no information about the bands that will play at the event, the exact location, or ticket sales.
The last edition of Maranhão Open Air took place in 2022 and was marked by a series of unforeseen events. Of the 24 bands initially announced, 7 canceled their participation for various reasons Edu Falaschi , Crypta , Mayhem , and Richie Ramone performed .
On social media, those interested in attending the festival are requesting a greater variety of musical styles in the lineup and infrastructure improvements, such as more restrooms. More information should be released soon.
