The Italian band Måneskin shared this Friday, the 17th, a cover version of "If I Can Dream," made for the Elvis Presley by director Baz Luhrmann.

The version is emotional and quite faithful to the song "Walter Earl Brown," recorded and released as a single by the King of Rock in 1968. The cover will be part of the soundtrack for " Elvis ," which is expected to arrive in Brazil on July 14th.

Speaking to NME , vocalist Damiano David said: “We were talking about it with Baz Luhrmann, who had this really cool and super-smart idea, because it would have been so easy to give us an upbeat song. He saw between the lines that we might be able to show the sweet side of Elvis. I think we did a great job.”

Listen below to Måneskin's version of the classic "If I Can Dream," followed by Elvis's original version. At the end of the article, you can watch the trailer for the biopic. Elvis will be played by Austin Butler , while his agent Tom Parker will be portrayed by Tom Hanks.
