A source close to the family revealed the illness
Sources close to the family of Malcolm Young, guitarist for AC/DC , have reported that the musician is hospitalized in a clinic in the Sydney countryside, Australia. The institution specializes in the treatment of dementia.
The source who revealed Young's illness, who was not identified, stated: “If you were in a room with Malcolm, left, and came back a minute later, he wouldn't remember who you are. He has a complete loss of recent memory. His wife, Linda, has placed him in 24-hour intensive care.”
Young is 61 years old and his retirement from AC/DC was announced last Wednesday, the 24th. The guitarist was left out of the recordings for the band's next album and will be replaced on the 2015 world tour by his nephew, Steve Young.
