The band plays Rainbow Eyes.
The São Paulo-based progressive rock/metal band Maestrick didn't let the anniversary of Dio's death pass unnoticed. The band recorded a cover of Rainbow's song "Rainbow Eyes ," featuring the OBA! (Orquestra Belas Artes) orchestra conducted by maestro Andrea Porzio Vernino.
Maestrick's version of "Rainbow Eyes" was released at midnight last Saturday as a music video, filmed at the Sesc São José do Rio Preto theater and directed by Pocbit. The video can be watched below.
“Throughout his career, Ronnie James Dio was living proof of the true purpose of an artist ,” says Fabio Caldeira, vocalist and pianist of Maestrick. “With his voice and his music, he transcended the act of entertaining people. Dio went beyond that! He inspired us all, and this tribute is our sincere way of honoring and thanking him.”
Besides Fabio, Maestrick is currently formed by Renato “Montanha” Somera (bass and vocals), Heitor Matos (drums and percussion) and Paulo Pacheco (guitar). Maestrick is currently in the process of composing their second and new album. Still untitled, the work will be the successor to the acclaimed “Unpuzzle!” from 2011 and will once again be produced by Gustavo Carmo (VersOver, Imago Mortis, House of Bones). The album is expected to be released in 2015.
