Madre Sun , a band formed by brothers Matt and Eduardo Cavina , Flipi Stipp , and Tyson Schenker , has released the second single from their EP, Speed of Light . The title track follows "Trick Up The Sleeve ," the group's first official release.
To celebrate the release, Madre Sun also released the music video for the track. “Speed of Light” was filmed during a show at the O2 Islington in London in November 2019 by Enrique C. Riepenhausen , and produced and edited by Ardo Cotones . The 80s aesthetic of the video comes from the typical rock arcades of the era, a childhood passion of the band members.
According to guitarist and backing vocalist Matt Cavina, the song reflects on how we live at the speed of light these days, with less and less time on our hands. "'Speed of Light' is about this rush, that there comes a point when we'll reach the speed of light and then everything will go back. Nothing will change," he explained in a statement released to the press.
Recorded live over five days, the EP The Speed Of Light is a preview of what we can expect from Madre Sun's debut album. While we wait for the album, check out "Speed of Light" below – the single is available on all streaming platforms .
