Madre Sun , an English rock band formed by Brazilians, announces its first EP, titled The Speed Of Light .
The band, formed by brothers Eduardo and Matt Cavina , São Paulo-born drummer Flipi Stipp , and Tyson Schenker , recorded the EP in five days in Cambridge, United Kingdom, but despite the short period, it was created with great naturalness and harmony among the group members.
Guitarist Tyson, son of Michael Schenker of UFO and Scorpions , shared more about his relationship with the guitar and the arrangements on the EP: “I decided to improvise all the guitar solos instead of going into the studio with pre-written parts. This was a process I had never done before in my previous bands, and it added a bit more excitement to seeing where it would go.”
Eduardo shared more about the creative process behind the EP, which is certainly a preview of the band's debut album sound. "The tracks were written very freely in every aspect, with all the band members involved," the artist commented. "The songs originated with Matt creating a base of lyrics and riffs, Flipi arranging the beats and rhythms with me on bass, and Tyson adding guitar solos and arrangements, giving even more personality to the songs."
The first single from the EP, “Trick Up The Sleeve,” will be released next Friday, May 22nd.
