The band Mad Chicken has released their newest album, Poultrygeist , through the labels Abraxas and Limestone Records. The album is available on all streaming platforms.
Mad Chicken is a band that was formed in 2013 in the city of Arcos, Minas Gerais, with influences from grunge, stoner rock, and sludge metal. Their new album, Poultrygeist, was recorded in April 2022 at ForestLAB studio with producer Lisciel Franco, entirely using analog techniques.
The songs had already been produced by the band since 2021, after the release of their last album, Chicken of the Grave , on May 27, 2021. In June 2021, guitarist Michel “Miojjo” Custódio passed away due to complications from COVID-19, before he had the opportunity to receive his first dose of the vaccine.
The opening track of the new album, “Mike's in da House”, in addition to featuring the main riff by Michel himself, is a tribute. “For the immeasurable dedication and contribution he made to the band since joining in 2016, and even before becoming a member, we decided to move forward to continue making new music and honoring everything he did with us,” the band wrote in a press release.
As of September 2021, the band began to include a long-time friend on second guitar, Carlos Macarrão . Mad Chicken continues to feature Filipe Xavier (vocals), André Salviano (bass), Daniel Mudo (guitar) and Pedro Paim (drums).
