Machine Head , one of the most respected names in American groove metal, is in the final stages of completing their next studio album.
On Instagram, the band's official profile shared a photo of Robb Flynn , the group's guitarist and vocalist, in the studio recording vocals and making final adjustments for the new album.
The next studio album will be their first since the release of Of Kingdom And Crown (2022), which was met with critical acclaim and fan praise. Of Kingdom And Crown marked Machine Head's return to thrash and groove metal, following the controversial Catharsis (2018).
Machine Head releases single with special collaborations.
In November, Machine Head released the single "These Scars Won't Define Us," which featured guest appearances from the bands In Flames , Lacuna Coil , and Unearth .
Along with the announcement of the new single, the group placed a subtle note on their official website , officially confirming their 11th studio album ( via Metal Hammer ):
"The single will be featured on the upcoming album, scheduled for release in April 2025."
The new single also promotes Machine Head's upcoming North American tour alongside the bands that made special appearances on the new song, and will kick off on April 5, 2025 in Oakland, California, the band's hometown.
The group's 11th album will be their first work without guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka , who left the band to focus more on his work with Decapitated .
To replace Kiełtyka, the band turned to the excellent riffmaker Reece Scruggs , former guitarist of Havoc , who will be making his debut and could add a lot to the sound of the new record.
