Machine Head releases new single and announces anime-inspired concept album.

The new album arrives on August 26th and its concept is inspired by 'Attack On Titan'

As announced last week , Machine Head released their new single “Choke on the Ashes of Your Hate” this Tuesday, the 12th. The song is part of their new album, Of Kingdom of Crown , also announced today, which will feature new songs as well as the trio of tracks from the EP Arrows in Words From The Sky .

According to Robb Flynn , the new album is a concept album based in some ways on the Japanese anime Attack On Titan , which he started watching because of his two teenage children.

“The album concept was loosely inspired by the series, in the sense that, in the story, there is no 'good guy' or 'bad guy'. Both characters think they are doing the right thing, but both are committing acts of pure atrocity and evil. The opening track, 'Slaughter The Martyr', is basically the origin story of our character No. 1,” he says.

According to a press release ( Loudwire ), the Machine Head album follows the arc of two main characters. Character number 1 is Ares (pronounced Aries), who “loses the love of his life ( Amethyst ) and goes after the cult responsible for her murder in a murderous spree.”

Character number 2 would be Eros (pronounced Arrows), the perpetrator of the crime, who “loses his mother to a drug overdose and becomes radicalized afterward. Eros goes beyond the limit, organizing his own killing spree.”

The album Of Kingdom of Crown will be released on August 26th.
