M. Shadows claims that touring is not currently financially viable.

High production costs, expensive travel, and ticket prices are some of the obstacles.

In an interview with YouTuber Bradley Hall Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows stated that touring is practically impossible, citing increased expenses and the paltry sum that band members receive for each show.

“If I were to present figures now and show you what we earn at a show and how much it costs, I think you’d say, ‘Are you kidding me? How can you make so much money and no band member earns anything?’ And you’d think, ‘There must be someone somewhere who’s doing something wrong.’ But that’s the truth,” (transcribed by Blabbermouth.net ) .

During the chat, the Avenged Sevenfold frontman said: "Touring is very difficult for bands right now. It's almost impossible."

Furthermore, M. Shadows revealed that A7x involve a crew of 38 people, and that maintaining them requires passing the costs on to the ticket prices.

Following the pandemic, inflation continued to significantly impact touring due to high operating costs and changes in audience behavior, factors that contributed to increased ticket prices.

“People were surprised by the ticket prices, because of the tours, because of inflation, so it all adds up. And then you have people who are very upset about the ticket prices, which I understand. It's kind of crazy to go see some bands and the ticket costs five hundred, six hundred dollars.”
