"It was a pleasant surprise."
Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the band's first Grammy nomination.
“Every year when the nominations come out, we release incredible albums and never get anything, so we think, ‘We’ll never be nominated, and that’s it.’ So it was a nice surprise.”
He concludes by saying: “We don’t care about awards (…) But we are grateful that this is happening at this point in our career. And to be there with the Foo Fighters and Metallica and all the other bands, we are very excited.”
Avenged Sevenfold has been nominated for Best Rock Song with the track “The Stage”.
