Lzzy Hale , vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of the band Halestorm , will be the only woman to perform at the farewell show of the original Black Sabbath Back To The Beginning event , which takes place this Saturday, July 5th, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

In an interview with Loudwire Nights , the vocalist spoke about the experience: [transcription via Loudwire ]: “I talked to a lot of my sisters, my female colleagues, and I thought, ‘Hey, I’m going to take all of you with me.’”

“It’s wonderful to be on a stage like this and to really be able to say and prove that this genre is for everyone. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without Black Sabbath… No matter what’s between your legs, you have to dedicate yourself 110% to rock and roll and you have to sacrifice a lot.”

He then said, “In many ways, this is a personal accomplishment for me and a personal development. But it’s also a big yes to all the women who are coming up behind me. I feel my responsibility now is to be able to pass the baton back and say, ‘Hey, if I can do this and achieve this, you can too.’”

Shortly after, Lzzy Hale shared her favorite Ozzy and Black Sabbath songs: “ Ozzmosis was huge for me back then… Before that, No More Tears . Black Sabbath has the monotony of Electric Funeral Dio years which I was completely obsessed with for so many years. They have a lineage and we can only hope and fight to outlive them all the way they all have. They invented the genre and paved the way for the rest of us… The most beautiful thing about Black Sabbath is that no matter your age, no matter when you get into Black Sabbath — there’s something there for everyone, for every generation, for the next few decades.”

Finally, Hale shared his excitement for Saturday's show:

“I’m ready to make magic with my friends and stand shoulder to shoulder with these people. It’s not just Black Sabbath and Ozzy that I’m there to celebrate and admire. But all these other men who are beside me and performing with me. We’ll all be on the side of the stage watching everyone perform and watching Black Sabbath perform… I’m looking forward to things happening that we never imagined could happen.”

Titled "Back To The Beginning ," the final show of the greatest heavy metal band will reunite the four original members. Vocalist Ozzy Osbourne , bassist Geezer Butler , guitarist Tony Iommi , and drummer Bill Ward will play together for the first and last time in 20 years.
