Lzzy Hale made her debut as Skid Row on May 17th. The singer temporarily took over the position for the already scheduled shows after Erik Grönwall announced his departure from the band in March. However, Erik's departure was amicable. The musician recently underwent treatment and recovered from leukemia, but his immune system was compromised. As touring would be difficult, he ended up leaving the band.
Hale, who has always looked up to Skid Row, accepted the invitation to do these shows with the band. “This is totally wild! I can’t believe my test VHS tape finally arrived in the mail! (I’m kidding),” Hale said in a post when he accepted the invitation.
Skid Row's first show with Lzzy Hale
In this first show, Lzzy played the hard rock band's hits. The performance took place in Carterville, Illinois. The vocalist sang 14 iconic songs from the group.
In this way, Hale fulfilled her dream by taking on the vocals. She describes in her post: “They were one of the only bands of the time that truly filled the gap in my love for the great choruses and riffs of the 80s, but had the same poignant grit and grime that seeped into the cracks of my mind during the 90s. In the early 2000s, Halestorm was making its mark, inspired by these powerful songs that helped me open a door within myself, being a young artist at the time.”
