The vocalist gave a moving speech
On the evening of Tuesday, October 24th, the Loudwire Music Awards , where Chester Bennington was voted best vocalist of the year.
Lzzy Hale of Halestorm accepted the award on her behalf and gave a moving and encouraging speech about rock and roll, love, and depression.
“This is for Chester Bennington! The voice of a generation, and I’d like to take this moment to remind you all that we’re in this together, you’re not alone. Life is hard. And we all have demons and addictions that we have to battle every day. And we have a responsibility to help each other. We’re in this fight together.”
Hale continues to urge everyone to stop the hate speech and start spreading comments of encouragement, hope, empowerment, and Rock and Roll.
She concludes by saying: “Chester, we love you. We miss you so much and I’m so sorry you had to leave this world this way. But for all those you healed with your music, you reminded us that we are not alone. Your music and your message will live on forever. Thank you. Chester, we love you.”
