The presentation took place in 2009
In a recent interview with Hawaii Public Radio , Lzzy Hale, vocalist and guitarist of Halestorm , spoke about what it was like to participate in Ronnie James Dio in 2009.
“It was one of those happy accidents that happen sometimes ,” he recalled. “We were between tours, and kind of heading home for a few days off. Coheed & Cambria were opening for us, but they couldn’t make it to the last date. So things worked out perfectly. Our manager called, made us the offer, and I said I’d do whatever it took.”
She admitted to being a fan of the musician since childhood, and the opportunity brought back childhood memories. “It was just one show, but it was the kind of thing that reminded me why I do what I do. They were wonderful. It’s funny to think now how nice they were to us, spending the whole night with us and welcoming us with open arms even without knowing who we were.” Listen to the full interview below.
Halestorm is currently working on their fourth studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz. The album is expected to be released in the coming months by Atlantic Records.
