Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale has stated that she is writing some of the best songs she has ever written in her career.
The statement came during an interview with Terrie Carr on American radio station 105.5 WDHA , in which Hale discussed his relationship with fans and the band's current process with the new album, the successor to Back From The Dead .
Halestorm's next album
Hale said the band is taking longer in the creative process for their next album. However, she's really enjoying this stage, probably because, according to her, this is a great time in her personal life, which is reflected in her creative ability.
The singer anticipated that although the sound of the new album is not yet defined, she already feels that Halestorm will be deeper, as Lzzy Hale believes she is writing some of the best lyrics she has ever written.
The importance of fans to Lzzy Hale
Lzzy continued the conversation by commenting on how stimulating and motivating the latest album, Back From The Dead , was. And especially how important the fans' reception was for her to get her head on straight during difficult times.
The vocalist understands that the exhausting and unpredictable routine of a tour drives everyone a little crazy. However, it does her a lot of good when fans show all the affection and admiration they feel. Furthermore, she realized that they are genuinely concerned about the band's well-being, which motivated her to establish a new level of connection with the fans.
Connection beyond music
The singer confessed that on her last tour she had the opportunity to talk in a more personal and vulnerable way with some fans. This desire arose after a meet & greet where it became clear to the fans that she wasn't feeling well.
At that moment she understood that she wasn't just affected by tour fatigue. More than that, she realized she could share the problems she was going through. So, after a show, she gathered some fans and talked about what was happening in her life.
“And what I realized is that instead of being the strong person in that moment, I benefited more from it and gained more confidence, more admiration, more connection with my fans. They supported me through many things. I could have just kept the veil up, being a strong person. However, I benefited more from opening up and being honest.” (via Blabbermouth )
She concluded her reflection by saying that all these feelings are present in the new songs and that this has opened up space for new conversations with fans, not only about shows, tours, and releases.
Lzzy ended the conversation by returning to the topic of the new album and how excited the band is about the new Halestorm songs, and especially about playing them live at shows.
