Holograma debuted in 2016 and has been performing with Dio Disciples ever since

Ronnie James Dio hologram will return to touring in 2019 with the Dio Disciples to perform over 100 shows.

Since its debut at Wacken in 2016, the hologram has divided opinions among the musician's fans. Now, Lzzy Hale , frontwoman of Halestorm , has spoken about the controversy.

“My friends are divided on this issue,” she revealed during a recent interview, “It’s fake, but at the same time I think the hologram is introducing Dio’s music to a new generation, to people who couldn’t see him live.”

"I think as long as the family is okay with it and Ronnie's wife thinks that's what he would want, then it's fine, I'm okay with it."

Dio's widow, Wendy , said he would approve of the idea and that's why she supports the tour. Jeff Pilson , the musician's former bandmate, also agrees, but Aldrich , another colleague, said Dio would be "pissed off".
