Lynyrd Skynyrd has finally released an official video for their most iconic track, "Free Bird," 52 years after its original release.
Directed by Max Moore – who has previously worked with Spiritbox, Code Orange , and Knocked Loose – the music video blends images of an older man with his younger self, fondly reminiscing about a past romance and the motorcycle that made it possible.
Full of nostalgia and romantic clichés, the music video features actor Mike Seely playing the older man. The artist was Hugh Hefner in the TV series Pan & Tommy .
Lynyrd Skynyrd's 50th anniversary tour begins in the UK in June and concludes in the US in August.
Furthermore, the band honored the late Gary Rossington with the new album Celebrating 50 Years: Live at the Ryman . Recorded at the Ryman Theater in Nashville in November 2022, during the band's Big Wheels Keep On Turnin' tour, the album showcases the last show with founding guitarist Gary Rossington, just five months before his death. The album consists of 15 new versions of the band's songs and a bonus track.
