After a 40-year career and more than 60 albums, Lynyrd Skynyrd announces their retirement.
The legendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd will embark on their final tour, titled “Last Of The Street Survivors Farewell Tour” . The series of shows will begin on May 4th in the United States. Tickets will go on sale on February 2nd through LiveNation.com.
Gary Rossington, the band's founder, said: "It's hard to imagine, after all these years, that the band that Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins and I started has lasted so long and for so many generations of fans."
Vocalist Johnny Van Zant added: “We have been blessed with these great songs and the messages they carry for the fans. It has been a true honor to try and follow in my brother's footsteps over the last 31 years, keeping his music and spirit alive.”
