Luis Mariutti, from Shaman and who has also played with Angra , Andre Matos Solo , About2Crash Wikimetal co-founder Nando Machado during The Wikimetal Happy Hour how he developed a taste for the bass and which band encouraged him to pursue the instrument.

He says that his initial inspiration to pursue playing bass was Iron Maiden : “And not just them. The first records I bought, by Queen and Motorhead (…) I really liked their sound.”

"The tone of Steve Harris's 'The Number, ' 'The Number' came out on my birthday, March 22, 1982. The sound of Steve Harris's bass, damn, I pestered my dad so much to buy me a bass. But I wanted a blue bass."
