Lou Koller , of Sick Of It All , who four months ago declared himself "free" from the esophageal cancer diagnosed in 2024, has revealed that the disease has returned.
In the post, the lead singer of the American hardcore band said he was having difficulty recovering and that "the cancer came back and it brought some friends with it" [transcription via Blabbermouth ]:
"Hey guys. What's up? It's Lou here. I don't know if you've noticed it's me, with my new skeletal look. Here's an update for you. It's not what I want to do, but unfortunately, the cancer has returned and it brought some friends with it.".
“I was having a lot of difficulty with my recovery. I was having trouble gaining weight and maintaining my diet. So, I had some tests done and, in fact, it's back. But let's take it one day at a time and see what happens. I want to thank everyone again for the moral support. The way you reach out to me continues to be very… very grateful. But I will keep you updated and tell you how it went. Okay? See you soon.”
The musician announced that he will "go back to square one" and begin treatment again.
