Lorraine Lewis is leaving her position as lead vocalist for Vixen after five years with the band.
In the post she wrote: “Vixen tribe and dedicated fans: the band has taken a different direction, and as much as I miss you, know that more rock & roll from me is on the way! It has been an honor to lead the band since that first show in 2019 and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity and the memories that came with it. I had so much fun and loved dancing with you all. I can't wait to rock with you again. Soon, trust me! I'm not going anywhere!!”
Shortly after, the vocalist announced that she is recording with the legendary Lou Gramm, former vocalist of the band Foreigner . They are in the studio recording a new song.
Lorraine Lewis leaves Vixen, but the band continues with a busy schedule.
Despite the announcement of Lewis' departure, the band Vixen remains scheduled for June through August. For now, the remaining members—guitarist Britt Lightning , drummer Roxy Petrucci , and bassist Julia Lage —have not commented on who will take over vocal duties. Julia was the last to join the band, in 2022. She was previously with the Brazilian band Barra da Saia , which was nominated for a Grammy.
Last October the band released the song “ Red ” , which drew praise from Petrucci, a founding member of the band. His statement reads: “'Red' is a very dynamic and powerful rock song! Modern, but encompassing incredible harmonies and catchy choruses that are characteristic of Vixen's classic style. It's important to me that we honor Jan [ Kuehnemund ] and the band's 35-year legacy, remaining true to the Vixen sound while blending new ideas. I'm confident we hit the mark with our new release 'Red'!”. The music video can be seen below.
