Lollapalooza: The festival's history will be told in a documentary.

The documentary will tell the story of the festival, which was created 30 years ago and is now a global phenomenon with editions in seven countries.

A documentary about the Lollapalooza festival has been approved and will be distributed by Paramount+.

Divided into three parts, the documentary will be called Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza and will be directed by Michael John Warren in partnership with the event's current promoter, C3 Presents.

According to information released by those responsible for the documentary, it will tell the story of the event from its founding in Chicago and will cover all its international editions. Today the event takes place in São Paulo, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Stockholm, and Paris.

According to a statement released to the press (via Rolling Stone ), Lollapalooza will recount the evolution of the event over its 30 years of existence, while also offering a closer look at the event's founder and Jane's Addiction frontman, Perry Farrell.

“[Lolla] will chronicle… the evolution of what is now a global cultural phenomenon that transcends generations of music fans and artists of all genres,” the synopsis reads. In his statement, Perry said that after “injecting new life into the live music experience” with Lollapalooza, he is excited “to give people an inside look at the festival’s contribution to music history.”

It has not yet been announced when the documentary will be released.

Lollapalooza 2023

Lollapalooza Brazil 2023 takes place from March 24th to 26th at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo. Confirmed artists include blink-182, Rise Against, Yungblud, Black Pantera, Willow , Jane's Addiction , and Pitty . Tickets are on sale at the Tickets For Fun website.
