The story behind the creation of one of the world's biggest music festivals, Lollapalooza, will be told through a three-episode documentary series. Scheduled for May 22nd, Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza is directed by Michael John Warren . The series will be available on Paramount+ .

The festival was born in 1991, thanks to musician Perry Farrell , leader of Jane's Addiction . The series will offer an overview of its creation. The documentary will cover its beginnings as a punk scene event and trace the festival's more than 30 years to the present day.

“When I started Lollapalooza, it was a farewell to Jane's Addiction,” Farrell states in the trailer. The documentary series will also feature interviews with names like Flea , Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails , Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine , Lars Ulrich , Ice-T , Chance the Rapper , and many more.
