Lollapalooza bad weather

Lollapalooza is accused of paying R$ 50 for 12 hours of work to a homeless person, and the production company responds.

The Lollapalooza festival was already the target of complaints during last year's edition.

The organizers of the Lollapalooza festival have been accused of paying only R$ 50 for 12 hours of work to homeless people, according to Folha de São Paulo . The event took place last weekend and was already the subject of a similar complaint at last year's edition.

Under the Brazilian Labor Law (CLT), the standard workday is 8 hours, plus 2 hours of overtime – during which the pay is 50% higher than the normal hourly rate.

The complaint was made by the homeless people themselves and by Father Júlio Lancelotti, from the Pastoral Care for the Homeless, who used his social media to talk about the case. "The market price for a porter to work 12 hours would be R$ 100," he says.

Many of the workers, who asked not to be identified in the article, sleep in adult shelters and, according to them, there isn't always a contract. The report also addresses the lack of restrooms for the workers' use.

Following the public outcry, the company responsible for the festival, Time For Fun, released a statement to the press claiming that it "has always valued respect for the public, its business partners, and, above all, the applicable legal norms for hiring service providers."

The company also says that the article that published the allegations "has no basis" and that it will respond to it "through the appropriate legal means."
