Lollapalooza Brazil 2026 consolidates a trend that is becoming increasingly evident in major festivals: uniting artists representing different phases of rock at the top of the lineup. By featuring Deftones and Turnstile as headliners, the event creates a dialogue between tradition and renewal, connecting the legacy of 1990s alternative metal with the reinvented energy of contemporary hardcore – check out other festival acts here.

The event will take place on March 20th, 21st, and 22nd at the Interlagos racetrack, in the southern region of São Paulo. Tickets for each day are on sale through the Ticketmaster website . Prices range from R$ 633.60 (half-price, available in 12 interest-free installments) to R$ 1,262.20 (full price, without discount for social entry).

The veterans: Deftones

Deftones, formed in 1988, became one of the most influential names in alternative metal with albums such as Around the Fur (1997) and the multi-platinum White Pony (2000), considered an aesthetic landmark of the genre. Throughout their career, the band has won a Grammy and received other nominations, including recent recognition with the album Private Music, which lost the 2026 Grammy for Best Rock Album to Turnstile.

Currently, the band is experiencing a phase of global growth, described by vocalist Chino Moreno as "bigger than ever ." Fueled by rediscovery on digital platforms and successful tours, the band has gained notoriety among young audiences. "It's exciting. It's good to know, and it really is, that we are literally bigger than we've ever been in our almost 30 years of existence. But it's exciting and we are very grateful," said Chino. Deftones returns to Brazil after 11 years and promises one of the biggest shows of 2026.

The new generation: Turnstile

Turnstile, formed in 2010, symbolizes the new generation that expanded the boundaries of hardcore. Success began with Glow On (2021), an album that put the band on the map and earned them two Grammy nominations that year. But it was with NEVER ENOUGH (2025) that they achieved global recognition by incorporating elements of alternative rock, punk, and experimental music. This resulted in multiple Grammy nominations – winning in the categories of Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance with the song "Birds," earning them their first awards.

Lead singer Brendan Yates has commented on the band's success and their recurring presence at major festivals. “The ability to reach whoever is looking for our music and see that happen is always an incredible feeling […] It doesn't necessarily mean the size of a crowd, but growing in terms of challenging yourself. Putting yourself in new scenarios and seizing opportunities to grow in the future,” he said.

Establishing themselves as one of the leading names in rock today, Turnstile last performed in Brazil in 2024. Now, they return as headliners at Lollapalooza Brazil 2026, sharing the spotlight with Deftones, demonstrating how the festival embraces the coexistence of past and future on the same stage.
