Kadu Pelegrini , vocalist for the bands Kiara Rocks and StormSons , opened up about the challenges of making a living playing rock music in Brazil during an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour .

Praised by Nando Machado for his perseverance and dedication throughout his career, the singer and songwriter said that he never considered "taking shortcuts" with more popular styles within the genre, as he wouldn't be happy outside of what he had always dreamed of.

“You know that having a band here in Brazil is something you can easily give up on. But a lot of people who only see the finished product don't know how much we go through and have to do. It's equipment here, it's not a venue, a record label, a show, and things like that—you take a beating, but you always stay strong because that's what I chose for myself. I know it's difficult,” he explained.

With so many years on the road, Pelegrini has experience with haters and knows how to better handle negative reactions to his work. “And in Brazil, no matter how good your business is, there will always be someone to speak ill of it, it doesn't matter. That's normal, I'm used to it, and they'll want to bring you down, tell you to give up because you're not good enough and can't do it,” he said. “After a while, it seems like insistence, but it's not insistence. It's because you've done this your whole life and it's the only thing you like and know how to do. (…) If you give up easily, it wasn't meant for you to do that.”
