The iconic Live Aid concert will be available in its entirety for the first time starting this Wednesday, the 28th, on the event's official channel.
The footage will be available for one week starting at 9 AM (Brasilia time) on the 28th. The streaming was confirmed by Bob Geldof , organizer of the original event, and will celebrate the milestone of 1 million subscribers on the event's official YouTube channel. Live Aid was an initiative aimed at raising funds to help combat famine in Ethiopia. The concerts took place on July 13, 1985, and were held at Wembley Stadium in London and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia.
Among the attractions were Queen Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy Osbourne Led Zeppelin reunion featuring Phil Collins on drums, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, The Who, The Beach Boys, David Bowie, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Madonna, U2, Simple Minds, Wham!, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Boy George, Sting, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, Phil Collins, Ultravox, Dire Straits, Sade, The Who, Status Quo, Pretenders, Paul Young, Bryan Adams, and Eric Clapton.
In total, the event was attended by approximately 150,000 people, while its broadcast on television worldwide reached over 1.5 billion viewers.
