Even almost four years after his death, a series of previously unreleased projects by Chester Bennington continue to keep the singer's memory very much alive.
After the announcement that unreleased Chester vocals could be found on Grey Daze , the latest news is a collaboration between the former Linkin Park and Slash, revealed for the first time by sound engineer Big Chris Flores .
In an interview with Metal Temple last Friday, the 16th, Flores revealed that the collaboration between Chester and Slash dates back to 2010, when the guitarist was recording his self-titled solo album. The song, called "Crazy," was kept secret temporarily because Linkin Park was releasing an album at the same time and they didn't want to create any kind of conflict with Chester's presence on another album that wasn't theirs.
Flores reported that he found the demo of the song by accident while revisiting some old files and that he and Slash sent it to Talinda Bennington , Chester's widow, asking for her permission to finalize the production of the track and release it officially. Talinda was reportedly excited about the idea and suggested releasing the demo as is, but Flores insisted that the song needed some adjustments before the final version.
Flores also stated that he was "sure the song will be released at some point" and revealed a snippet during the interview (with Talinda and Slash's permission). Listen via the YouTube player starting at minute 4:10.
