Emily Armstrong, the new lead singer of Linkin Park – learn more about the band's return at the end of this article – responded to controversial comments regarding her association with actor Danny Masterson , who was found guilty of rape. Furthermore, it was suggested that she has an alleged connection to Scientology, a controversial religion that has long been the target of accusations of physical and psychological abuse.

In 2013, according to the Mirror , the singer attended a religious gala where musician Cedric Bixler-Zavala , lead singer of The Mars Volta and former Scientologist, was also present.

Regarding Masterson, it was revealed that she supported him when he was sentenced to prison for rape in 2022. He was a follower of the religion and was accused by women who were part of the cult, including Christina Carnell Bixle , wife of Cedric Bixler-Zavala .

On her social media, Emily responded to the allegations: “Hi, I’m Emily. I’m new to many of you and I wanted to clarify something that happened some time ago. Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court hearing and I went to an initial hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have done that.”

“I always try to see the good in people and I misjudged him. I haven’t spoken to him since then. Unimaginable details came to light and he was later found guilty. To be as clear as possible: I do not tolerate abuse or violence against women and I have empathy for the victims of these crimes.”
