Linkin Park has revealed the one song the band will no longer play live following the death of Chester Bennington.
In an interview with The Guardian , vocalist Mike Shinoda confirmed that the track "One More Light," the title track from the 2017 album, the last one with Chester Bennington before his suicide, will remain off the setlist.
“[It was originally written] for a woman from the record label we worked with who passed away. Then, after Chester passed away, the world decided it was about him. And so it’s too sad to play,” Mike revealed.
The lead singer continued: “I think we all wanted the show to have a really good vibe. I want you to leave with the feeling that this was a wonderful, special, and fun night.”
The band returns to Brazil in November, exactly one year after their last visit to the country, with the From Zero World Tour 2025 .
The band will be performing in stadiums in the cities of São Paulo, Brasília, and Curitiba – tickets for some sections are still available for purchase on the Ticketmaster .
Man murdered while singing Linkin Park's "One More Light"
Last Friday, the 11th, a man died while singing "One More Light" at a karaoke night in Ohio.
Benjamin “Donkey” Hawk was at Louie's Corner House in Buckeye Lake with his girlfriend for a karaoke night.
According to authorities (via Loudwire ), Richard Lindgren, 59, shot his ex-wife's new boyfriend while he was singing the title track and haunting ballad from Linkin Park's 2017 album.
Benjamin “Donkey” Hawk was the father of two daughters. Relatives created a GoFundMe to help cover his funeral expenses and care for his children.
“One More Light” has become an emotional anthem for grief and remembrance. Now, it is tragically linked to a moment of violence.
