According to information from the American website Billboard , Linkin Park is planning to go on tour in 2025 with a new vocalist.
The band has been on hiatus since the death of singer Chester Bennington in 2017 at the age of 41. Following the tragedy, the band took a break without warning, leaving it unclear whether it would be a hiatus or the end of their career.
According to the website, the group's booking agency, WME, is accepting offers for performances both inside and outside of festivals with Mike Shinoda , Brad Delson , and Dave Farrell , but it has not been announced who will be replacing Bennington.
Jay Gordon , vocalist for Orgy , recently caused a stir by hinting that Linkin Park has a new female vocalist. In an interview with RadioActive with Mike Z , Gordon – who led Linkin Park on their first tour with Orgy and worked on the remix of “Pts.Of.Athrty” – commented: “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I heard they have a female vocalist now. That’s what I heard.”
When pressed on the subject, Jay Gordon tried to deflect the comment, saying, “Don’t take my word for it. I’m not sure who the new vocalist will be, but I heard it was a woman. They might try to move in that direction. It would be interesting.”
Days after the interview, Gordon posted a controversial statement on Facebook saying that he “doesn’t know anything about the subject” and that his words were “taken out of context.” Despite the interview being recorded on video and showing that the comment came from Jay himself, the vocalist insisted: “I didn’t say anything about knowing anything about this subject and I never brought it up.”
Rumors also surfaced that Amy Lee , vocalist of Evanescence , was being considered for the position , but during an interview she denied it. In a conversation with iHeart Radio, she said ( via Blabbermouth ): “That’s an incredible compliment,” after being told that she was a fan favorite to fill the spot. “I haven’t heard that. No, I haven’t been contacted [by Linkin Park] or anything like that. But [I am] a big fan, I feel like our worlds, our fan bases are basically the same people.”
